Business continuity planning (BCP) is a roadmap or plan for continuing operations under a disaster or emergency. The adverse condition could interrupt the supply chain or damage the critical infrastructure among other negative consequences. In addition organizations lose revenue and incur extra costs.
The BCP therefore enables the employees of the organisation to keep in touch in order to render critical services or products to customers in case of a disaster or emergency.
In order to guide organizations in the implementation of BCPs, The British Standards Institution (BSI) has published a standard BS 25999-2 “Specification for Business Continuity Management’’ which specifies requirements for implementing, operating and improving a documented business continuity management system (BCMS) for organisation to use.
It advisable for your organisation to have an updated BCP in order to continue rendering critical services or products to customers in case of a disaster taking place.
Our BCP team is available to help you in the process of implementing or updating a BCP.
